I have just been made aware of the start of New York Fashion week (Sept. 10). It was suggested i should register myself as a reporter via Mercedes Benz fashion week New York.
I will be covered (meaning i will be wearing clothes unlike some of the models at fashion week) but will i be covering it?
I will try to register myself. So maybe my next reporting event will be NY fashion week. ( i got the tip from someone at meetmrfashion).
Fringe-
The fringe is over. The closing party did not have an open bar, so therefore, i left early. I left as Elena Holy (one of the founders of the fringe fest) was making a speech about the success of this year's fringe and all those (staff and volunteer) alike who made it possible...
I ran into a musician from Zipperface waiting outside who was meeting his friends ( an the rest of the cast) in Chipotle mexican grill. Zipperface is doing the fringe encore, i was told.
Maybe i'll get to see them.
The gramercy theater (where the closing party was held)put one of those fluorescent green wrist bands around our wrist which got me excited about the possibility of an open bar. but no can do.
I was hoping for a fringe t-shirt since i did do like 12 volunteer shifts.Okay, so maybe the box office managers and venue directors will go on about how i showed up late for one shift, took a few shifts to figure out that there is one line for ticket holders and one line for ticket buyers, you have to tell people to pipe down when there is another show going on, you have to let the theater goers know 5 minutes prior to the house closing, that the house will be closing in 5 (theaterspeak for: house = theater), ...
By nect year, i should have the hang of it.
Thanks fringe, it was fun. ( i met lots of cool people!)

overheard at fringe power hour:
by The australian ( i wish i knew this performer's name):
a line from a song:
"You're so hot you make thai food seem bland."
----
If i can get a metro card, i am heading over to the Arthur Ash stadium to cover US open.
September: Hire me NY month starts now!
