The Jar Luxe foundation will be holding a fundraiser Tuesday, September 15 th at the Greenhouse (on Varick between Spring and Vandam) to raise money for minority students(the term minority may be understood as people of color).
"We work with designers such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton", says Alma Heredia who handed me a postcard in front of Bryant Park advertising Tuesday's fundraiser.
Founder, Anistia Phiaria, says the foundation provides scholarships for not only minorities in fiscal need, but all minorities.
"It benefits all minorities, including the female gender," says Phiaria.
Other designers working with Jarluxe include: Marc Jacobs, Von Furstenberg...
The money goes towards helping students pursuing careers in fashion. Many of the recipients attend fashion institutions such as Pratt, Parsons, Fit, Lim college.
Jarluxe was founded in 2006 and their latest program will benefit 2 students attending LIM college. They will both receive 8 000 $ each and will be honoured at Tuesday nights event.
