Up intil january 3th, you can view 2 one acts by thornton wilder: The long christmas dinner and pullman car hiawatha. Neither of which present much Christmas iconography (i was hoping for a christmas tree on the set, there was none),but if you are a fan of this playwright, you might like it. Also, if you like familial conversation (apparently, it spans the Bayard family over 90 years) and conversation between strangers on a train, you might enjoy this. Again, a few christmas related themes might have been enjoyable for a play called The long christmas dinner. View their website for available seats.

Parm needs to relocate

Lansky's on the upper west side was closed for chicken parmigiana; you've got to be joking. Parm now has the place that Lansky's was at. I think Parm needs to relocate and Lansky's needs to reopen in that same place. Parm took the sofas out. What 's wrong with the Parm? This group keeps showing up after me and I wish it would stop. They showed up at the tavern in the rockaways and redid it. I hate it. They took the center out and took the juke boxes out. What's wrong with the tavern? Please stop saying this and that in front me.

A New book will delight all readers this holiday season

I walked by the Barnes and Noble last week and noticed the poster announcing the reading of the new book by 2 women: one known to me as Amanda Peet, the actress that was in shows like 'Jack and Jill' and the movie "Something's gotta give, (which I loved.); the other, unknown, is known as Andrea Troyer. "Dear Santa, Love, Rachel Rosenstein" has a tagline that brings joy to me - All she wants for hanukkah is Christmas - which really is funny because all i ever wanted for Christmas was Christmas and Hanukkah (and a boyfriend). It seems as though after hearing the 2 authors talk on friday at the upper west side barnes and noble, it's Hanukkah they really want for Christmas. Indeed, Amanda went on about her Hanukkah (substituting her words), is spectacular. Perhaps she'll invite me to hers. But really, after listening to their story of a young jewish girl longing for Christmas and finding herself with her parents at the local Chinese restaurant seeing other non christmas practicing neighbors on Christmas day, i felt a little sad. I asked the 2 authors, could you have not written a different ending? their response: "Im inclusive." "it's important to celebrate all holidays". The group was confused. Members of the audience began to group up on Amanda a little. But in the end, the ending seem to satisfy. I myself was unsure. I loved the story, though. It is a true delight. .....

A funny Halloween story

At a shop in the Bronx. A woman walks by and looks through a window. The shop inside looks like it is being prepared for a Halloween mansion-like tour for the neighborhood. A cute little orange and black kitten appears. 2 dogs then appear and bark at cute Halloween kitten. Kitten looks stressed. A woman appears inside the shop and woman outside points to distressed kitten barked at by 2 dogs. She appears to ignore it and continues decorating her 'Halloween mansion'. Kitten climbs up ladder to get away from 2 dogs. A man appears with cat food and woman outside asks if kitten is okay. The man says the kitten is okay.

The New Whitney museum - A spectacular view of American art

I toured the Exhibiton 'America is Hard to See' recently after the press preview. (The press preview was very crowded and i was unable to interview the curator). In this show, you learn a little history of the Museum. Begining with floor 1 ( although the guide suggests beginning with floor 8, you encounter the portrait of Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, the founder of the Whitney. An artist and a patron of the arts, she started the Studio club in 1918, a space encouraging artists of the day to work and exhibit their art. .... Floor 7 : There is on view an incredible Lee Krasner - The Seasons. .....

They closed down Lansky's !!! Reopen Lansky's on the upper west side!!! They demolished Pastis in the meatpacking district !!! (made famous by The Devil Wears Prada movie). Reopen Pastis on the same corner!!! Someone took me there for breakfast when they visited!! It was my moment at an upmarket breakfast bistro in New York city !!! Reopen Pastis!!! The Downtown Whitney Inaugural exhibition

I was really excited i got to attend the whitney press preview of the inaugural exhibition of the downtown Whitney (relocated from the upper east side.) Their litte muffins weren't very good,but their little pizzas were. The inaugural remarks comprised of explaining the exhibition on view: an analysis of over 115 years of American art in their collection. 'America is hard to see' visually alerts us to its traumas and tragedies. May 1, the Empire state building hosts a light show with a Whitney theme. May 2 is free admission all day. My impression of the Whitney is it seemed it could staff a few more people of color. But who showed up today on the news ? Michelle Obama. She gave a speech celebrating the new whitney.

Where is my steak dinner and boyfriend at Yankees and Mets stadium?? I watched it (yankees and mets) on tv and Joe Girardi was making a phone call from the players box (the bull pen?). Who was Joe calling?? Last night, he pulled the number 43 pitcher off the field and replaced him.

This week Dwayne Johnson is hosting SNL. Furious 7 is opening. Sketch 1: Too fast for Dwayne: the women - Getting rid of the word fast in the former title 'fast and furious' . Women were too fast for Dwayne. Women and a hunger strike. lysistrata. Women getting things faster at the snl office. Dwayne needs an eraser. The women get the only eraser faster than Dwayne. Dwayne needs a cup of coffee. The women get their coffee faster than Dwayne (and there is none left for Dwayne. ) etc.

An important day in history (there's date cookies through it)

According to the news, March 7 is a date to remember. In 1965 Selma Alabama, a march took place accross a bridge triggering the voting rights act for African Americans. President Obama was there on Saturday to deliver a speech honoring this day. I watched his speech on tv.

International women's day 2015

Word up about international women's day (march 8) this year. The year's theme according to the international women's day website is 'Make it Happen'. What would you like to make happen in honor of women's day international? Think about it. I will.
